More about Apraxia

Here's some more info about apraxia for those who are curious... Apraxia Kids
For the longest time I just wanted to hear my son say Mommy. Now I have that and I am so blessed. I can not thank Mikey's teachers enough. They truly are angels sent from above.

I am so proud of Mikey. Today was his 3rd Tee ball game. So far we had only gotten him to bat once in his first game. Today Mommy and Mikey went to the game without the rest of the clan. With a lot of encouragement Mikey played the whole game. I am amazed at how far my little man has come in the past couple months. Mikey is not your typical four year old. When Mikey was 2 he still had not started to talk... we really didn't have very many sounds or any babble. We were told that he has apraxia of speech. Basically his brain doesn't tell his mouth how to speak. After two years of speech and special education classes it seems like his brain has turn on. His speech is still very rough but he can get his point across. He loves getting on the school bus in the morning and loves playing with his friends. We still have a long road ahead of us but we're getting there. Now if we could get this potty training thing down...
